Our New Exposed Aggregate patio

I hope you are enjoying summer so far, I can't believe we are nearing the end of July already!  For our outdoor project this year we decided to tackle the side of the house as this area had been embarrassingly neglected for far too long.  Here is what it looked like just a month ago.

The shed was falling apart and the area was becoming a dumping ground as you can clearly see!

The entire area was cleared up and a weeping tile was installed to drain any excess water away from the house

The company we hired to do the job was 'Magnasin'.  Owner Nick and his crew were very thorough in doing a job well done.  In addition to the patio, we also had them close in a window to the basement and repair the concrete that had been cracking along the lower side of the house.

This job was very labour intensive. Luckily it was done prior to the heat wave, but still hot!

We opted for exposed aggregate as oppose to poured concrete. The price point is only slightly higher and the look is just gorgeous.  They returned a couple of days later to seal the patio and now it's shines beautifully in the sun!

The guys were more than happy to save a corner for our kids to personalise it with their hand prints.

Here's a reminder of the space prior to the work...

And now...

A new shed will be placed here soon for even more storage space

We were amazed at the transformation and that we just  gained nearly 200 square feet of  functional space.  Just like my clients tell me after we finish a project, I wish we hadn't waited so long to get it done!
